Chedeville proudly sponsored the 2023 European Clarinet Congress, a prestigious event uniting accomplished clarinetists from around the world. Held in Tilburg, this gathering showcased a diverse festival program that highlighted the expressive capabilities of the clarinet across various genres.

The Congress provided a perfect platform for the commission and performance of new repertoire, featuring recital programs, clinics, and fostering communication among clarinetists. Attendees experienced many new compositions for the clarinet, spanning a wide range of genres. The Congress consistently delivered outstanding performances, along with invaluable clinics and master classes conducted by leading performers and teachers in the field.

This year’s edition featured clarinetists from the United States, Canada, England, Germany, Japan, Italy, Spain, Slovenia, Thailand, Scotland, France, Croatia and more. Notable Chedeville Artists such as Milan Rericha, Piotr Lato, Samantha Wright, and Nadia Sofokleous were among the featured performers.

We had the opportunity to reconnect with many old friends and were introduced to several new, upcoming, and talented clarinetists from around the world. The Chedeville exhibit booth was active throughout the week, where new and experienced clarinetists were offered mouthpiece setup advice and recommendations. On display was a diverse selection of Chedeville mouthpieces, barrels, and ligatures. Many participants were eager to try our Chedeville Kanter Cinema mouthpiece, which was created in collaboration with world-renowned clarinetist and mouthpiece craftsman, James Kanter. Several Congress attendees fell in love with the rich, focused sound that the Chedeville Kanter Cinema mouthpiece offers. We were thrilled to exhibit alongside Piotrowski Music, our trusted dealer in Poland.

Beyond the impressive musical performances, the Congress stood out for fostering a spirit of camaraderie. While the music and performances were remarkable, many attendees found equal significance in the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. Colleagues openly shared their experiences and insights, contributing to the extraordinary atmosphere of this Congress.

From December 6th to 9th, 2023, the European Clarinet Congress resonated throughout the entire city, leaving a lasting impact on the world of clarinet music.
