
Beatrice Cattaneo
Biography:
Beatrice Cattaneo earned her clarinet diploma in 1989 from the “G. Donizetti” Conservatory in Bergamo, where she studied under the guidance of Angelo Teora. During her studies, she also completed the complementary piano course and related examination. In 1997, she graduated in musicology from the University of Pavia.
She performs on first and second clarinet, piccolo clarinet, bass clarinet, and basset horn, collaborating with leading national orchestras and institutions including the Carlo Felice Theater Orchestra in Genoa, Teatro alla Scala in Milan, I Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra in Milan, the International Piano Festival Orchestra of Brescia and Bergamo, and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
She has toured internationally in Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Singapore, Norway, Tanzania, and China.
In addition to her orchestral work, Beatrice performs chamber music in a variety of ensembles, including clarinet quartet, trio with cello and piano, wind quintet, and octet.
She has held masterclasses for the National Clarinet Academy of Cesena, the Oscar Esplà Conservatory of Alicante in Spain, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London. She has also taught clarinet at the Tito Schipa Conservatory of Lecce, the Stanislao Giacomantonio Conservatory of Cosenza, and the Peri Conservatory of Reggio Emilia.
Beatrice is a tenured Professor of Clarinet at the Niccolò Paganini Conservatory in Genoa.
She is a Vision artist performing on Butterfly Bb/A clarinets, a Carbec Blu Reeds artist playing No. 3 reeds, and a Chedeville Artist performing on the Kanter Opera and Umbra F5 mouthpieces.
